How to change, a requirement for progress in life.

All of us had read about ‘change’ one time or the other. We all understand that without change, it is impossible to progress. I am quite sure that the following quote makes true sense

“Progress is impossible without change, and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything.”

It is something which is easier said than done. My personal life experience taught me that change is required not only at the end of the comfort zone but all the time when you find yourself getting the same results. There is no surprise that common sense is not common anymore. Everyone wants to change to progress in life, to be better financially, to have a better relationship, to better guide their kids, to perform better in their careers, be better in many aspects of their lives.

The initial momentum to change will be so powerful but as time pass, we end up doing the same thing to get the same results. So, why does this happen so often, that we stop to change? When I read the book, ‘Awaken the Giant Within’, by Anthony Robbins, I realized that one of the main causes is that we give up to change because it is not easy to row the boat you are in, against the current.

As I look at myself over and over again, I came to a conclusion that real change will only be permanent when we know the true reason for our inability to stick to change. I am going to be 53 now and after living this life for that many years, over the years, I have collected so much garbage into my mind. Unless I take the time to clean up my mind, it will be an uphill battle.

All of us have been going with the flow, most of the time with everyone and everything in life. We find it that it is energy consuming to go against the flow. We end up either to stay the same or just let it be.

Personally, I learned that if I remove all the garbage in my mind, I can change all the time to progress with everything that I do. The garbage, becomes a roadblock in our lives. When I say, ‘garbage’, it actually stands for our own belief system. Belief system is the hardest to remove from our minds. Why is it so?

Belief system came with our personal life experiences. When we experience the same thing over and over again, doing what we knew at that time due to our limited knowledge, we get the same results. Getting the same results makes us believe that this is it and so we end up installing the belief system permanently.

It is when we defy our own experiences, we will realize that the results can differ with our improved knowledge. Now, this is what I learned from my personal life experience. You could have different experiences with different learning all together.

Life is not only about perceptions but is it also how we interpret the experiences. The more we spend time observing, learning, and understanding about our own self, the easier that we can go through change for a progressive life. Without change, the results will remain the same.
